My Year In Photos

I probably should have written this post before the new year, but I have been feeling a little low this week so I decided to have a look back at my photos from 2015 and count my blessings...

January
(top left) I started 2015 off surrounded by my absolute favourite people which was perfect!

February
(top right)I cooked a huge vegetarian feast for my Mum's Birthday.

March
(bottom left & right) I got promoted at work and bought myself a red Mini which I have wanted for as long as I have been able to drive.

April
(top left & right) I went to Scotland with my mum and dad to visit family that I haven't seen for a very long time and Phil and I celebrated 4 years together.

May
(bottom left & right) I went to see S Club 7 in Cardiff with my Mum and it was a childhood dream come true, I never got to go when I was younger. I also celebrated by 23rd Birthday and spent a long weekend away in Paris with Phil. This was probably the highlight of my whole year!

June
(top left)We welcomed our new fur babies Alfie and Milo to the family. Sadly we lost Ruby in February and our house just wasn't the same without any pets.

July
(top right) Phil won tickets to go to WOMAD festival from his work. It rained pretty much the entire time but this photo was taken during the few hours of glorious sunshine that we did get!

August
(bottom left) I went for on holiday with my parents to Turkey for a week. I love this photo so much it makes me instantly feel relaxed when I look at it.

September
(bottom right) This was a quiet month but we did have a huge get together with all of my best friends from school and their parents.

October
(top left & right) We did very last minute halloween makeup and went to a party at a pub which was very fun. I also came third in my works bake off competition (still very proud of this cake!)

November
(bottom left) Phil and I went to Center Parcs for a week and had a relaxing time away.

December
(bottom right) I enjoyed a very quiet and relaxing christmas at home with my lovely family.

I was starting to feel like 2015 had been a bit of a non-year for me but looking back so much has happened. It is funny how quickly a year goes but I think I made it count.

The six month catchup!

To say I haven't posted in a long time is a bit of an understatement, life has sort of got in the way of my little internet hobby, which is ironic seeing as all I do on here is write about my life. Since my last blog post I have turned 22, spent a couple of months revising for my final exams, finished my third year of uni, moved out of my student house in Cardiff and back home to little old Stroud and will be graduating a week today with a 2:1 Law degree. PHEW!

Here are some of my highlights from the last 6 months to catch you up and I am hoping to be able to find the time to post a little more regularly now that I have finally finished uni!

I was asked to be a bridesmaid by my lovely friend and housemate

Went to the Cardiff Law Ball

Ruby helped me revise for my third year exams

I turned 22 in the middle of exams but managed to fit in a birthday meal and cocktails with my family

Finished my law degree and celebrated with my best friend

Moved back home to the countryside

Spent a few days in Manchester

Went to Phil's Graduation last week, my turn next!

How to: make your uni room feel like home

When you first move to uni it can sometimes be hard to make your room feel homely. It may have taken me three  years and copious amounts of blu-tac but I think I have finally done it! I love posts like this (mainly because I am massively nosey) but also because I like getting inspiration from other people, so maybe this will inspire one of you.

This is probably my favourite area of the room, mostly because I am always tired and love to sleep! The lights around my bed are stuck up with blu-tac, as are the photos and the little bird is hanging on a hook that was already in the wall.

On my bedside table I have scented candles. The lavender helps me get to sleep which can often be very hard in a noisy student house, but I also think they look pretty.

I also have a poster, a full length mirror and this cute bunting which my mum's friend made for me.This is stuck up with pins. Obviously some landlords wouldn't allow this but I have been quite lucky with mine.

This is my dressing table/chest of draws area. I did a DIY post on how to make the blue and cream drawers here

This jewellery hanger is from Pia, I love it, and it is definitely better than the horrible plastic bag that my necklaces were in before.

Last but not least is my notice board, I basically stick any old bits and pieces in here but I think it has ended up looking quite cool.

I obviously have a desk area as well, but I am in the midst of essay writing so it is a total mess. No one is going to want to see a picture of a bunch of law textbooks so I will leave that to your imagination!

Feel free to leave a comment, I would love to know what people think/if anyone even reads my posts. Haha.

Sunday Funday

I went back to Gloucestershire at the weekend to spend some time with my parents and on Sunday we decided to take a little trip over to Bourton-on-the-Water. We visited Birdland and at first we thought it was pretty hilarious that a 21 year old wanted to walk around a bird park with her parents but we actually had a surprisingly good time. It was worth going just for the penguins!

We then went for a stroll around the village which has got to be one of the most picturesque places in the country (hence all the tourists). It was so nice to do something a bit different for the day and I definitely feel very relaxed and ready to tackle the rest of the week!

P.s. I took all the photos on my new iPhone, I'm quite pleased with them especially as they were taken with a phone camera. oh technology!

Fujifun

Last weekend I moved back to Cardiff ready to start my final year of Uni. This means that summer has sadly come to an end, so I thought it was about time I scanned in the last of my holiday snaps!

At the start of the summer my boyfriend's family bought me a Fujifilm instax mini for my 21st birthday which I am in love with and have used so much over the holidays. I love having photos all around my room and these are perfect to stick up on my wall. The quality of the pictures isn't amazing but I love them just the same!

I think the camera itself is so cute and I love how excited people get waiting for the pictures to develop. Digital cameras really have taken the magic out of photography.

These are a few of my favourite pictures.

I have had such a great time this summer but bring on third year I guess!
