Ah dinnae ken

I tired to start blogging at the start of this summer so I could share my adventures with my friends and family. Unfortunately, I wrote one post, went on holiday for a month and never went on it again. Typical. As it turns out, my summer has not gone to plan for many reasons and in some ways has been quite a learning curve.

Just less than a month ago we lost my Grandad, it has been a really sad time for everyone because he really was so important and special to us all. As you can imagine dealing with this has taken up a large chunk of my summer. I had never lost someone so close to me before, so I have had to deal with grieving for the very first time which has been a very surreal experience. However, it has also made me realise how important family is, and I have been amazed how everyone has pulled through to help each other through such a difficult time. So instead of spending my whole summer with my friends, getting drunk and going to festivals as I had originally intended, (although I would be lying if I said I haven't got drunk at all!) I have spent a lot of  time with my family, talking about our memories, and for the most part laughing about all the hilarious and amazing things my Grandad did in his lifetime.

I decided to delete my other blog and start again because it didn't feel right anymore. I've called this blog 'Kelsey Marie', as my middle name was given to me by my Grandad, he was always so interested in what I had been doing when we would talk on the phone, so I guess this seems like a fitting tribute.

I promise my next post will be much less depressing, but sometimes it just feels better to write down how you feel.
